Presentation

  1. Doesn't seem like the right slides posted here, but proceeding, good job overall Ben.

You've likely given some presentations before or at least are quite confident in doing so. Some notes:

Your first lines were "I did my presentation on..." which is not quite engaging. A more significant beginning would help, but then I think you started toward that.

You organized, clear, and confident, moving around the presentation area and referring to slides. Organization and substance issues are probably more symptomatic of your analysis itself. I hope the analysis reads more clearly. You nicely made an argument about the connection of your style and delivery, and that worked well for you.

You seemed a bit nervous and labored here; lots of energy that made it a bit unnecessarily loud and less poised. Your use of images helped us see your points. Good choices.

A note: I think I'll see this in your analysis, but your not just not getting the recommendation section very well. It is not a "I'd recommend this article..." section. That misses the point.

Instead, it's to recommend to use what we can learn about persuasion from this argument, not what we can learn in general. You are making recommendations to us about what analyzing this article has revealed about making good arguments about adverts. As I've skimmed your analysis, I'm not sure you have a clear case. You should consider revising that section before I look over the analyses on Saturday.
